The
purpose of this course is to provide the student with the skills necessary to
achieve clarity and confidence in speaking in the online classroom, on the job,
and in the community. Basic principles of speech communication are introduced.
The student will learn to select topics, devise a central idea, find verbal and
visual support material, and organize the material into a coherent outline.
Techniques in analyzing listeners, effectively communicating ideas, and
projecting self-confidence will be covered.
